hey everyone! it's your friendly correspondent in europe. for all who have never traveled here before, i'll be your eyes. although it's 2:30 am right now, my eyes are not the least bit tired. maybe it's because in boulder right now it is actually 6:30 pm - time for dinner. i, however, had dinner six hours ago. now i'm watching t.v. in our hotel room. it is mostly b rate movies dubbed in italian, or some cheesey soap opera and talk shows. hopefully we will figure out how to find some american t.v., especially in time to see the broncos play the world champion rams next monday night. i think we will have to do some pay-per-view at 4 am to see it though. anyway, we made it here to milan, italy this morning at 9 am. michelle and i met her grandpa clifford in the hotel and had breakfast with him. he goes by the name "cliff" and he is really cool. very sharp guy, witty, a good story teller, and very experienced in european travel. he has an awesome itinerary in store for us. the countries we will be visiting are; italy, austria, czech-republic, germany, switzerland and maybe a little france. so far today we are mostly trying to get acclimated to the time difference. michelle and i took a nap this afternoon, supposed to meet cliff for lunch around 4 pm, but our little nap turned into 7 hours, wow guess we were tired, maybe it's because it was actually 4 am back home. met cliff and had a nice dinner with him. today all we really saw were all the bizarre little cars they have here in italy. a lot of fiats, pugeouts, alfa romeros and funky little electric "smart" cars. did'nt see one sport utility vehicle or pickup truck. tomorrow is when the sight-seeing really begins, we head for innsbruck austria. hopefully we will be adding some digital video and photos to the web page so you don't have to depend on my boring narratives. if you would like to respond via email to let me know i'm not just talking to myself, or to ask any questions please feel free and michelle or i will respond gleefully. you can email us at cliffm@colorado.edu
